"...Because children learn more from games than from words.”

From 31st of March to 2nd of April, young, motivated people were gathered in Sllatine to be trained about sport-based methodologies designed for social and inclusion to implement activities for children in their localities.

It is the second time that Endrita Jashanica participates in a training organized by PLAY international. Endrita comes from the lovely city of Obiliq, and she is in the last year of her bachelor studies in the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education at the University of Prishtina. Endrita has a big passion for sports with the main goal to focus her future career on it. Moreover, she has been a handball player since primary school.




 “Sport is very important in the development of children because children learn more from games than from words.”

Therefore, she regards learning through sports as a powerful method.

When asked what motivated her to participate in this training, Endrita answered she is very interested to learn how to initiate an activity with sports and learn how to prepare herself for the future, so she could be capable to invite other people to her own sport activities.

PLAY International in Kosovo provides a course for the students of the Faculty of education every winter semester of the academic year. Endrita explains that she elected that course during her studies and her experience with the course motivated her to participate in activities organized by PLAY.

When it comes to specific activities, Endrita explains that she really likes games developed by PLAY, especially cooperative and collective games. According to her, by playing these game the players gain skills in communications with others to develop a strategy of the game. This experience made her realize how important is for everyone to interact with others in order of obtaining common goals.

Endrita states that this training has helped her gain some skills that are quite useful in her future as a sports education teacher. Moreover, she has gained communication skills, networking skills with many other participants from other cities in Kosovo.

When asked if she would participate again in similar activities, she replied:

“Count me in, in whatever that involves sports.”
